Residents of the town of Călărași can now enjoy a new, modern recreational space following the completion of the urban revitalization project Modernization of the Square on Biruinței Street, implemented by the Central Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru). The investment of over 17 million lei included the development of a park with modern urban infrastructure designed to improve conditions for social, sports, and leisure activities.

The works included: a multifunctional square of about 2.5 hectares with playgrounds and a sports area; a roller track intended for recreational and sports activities; paved alleys and modern access roads; an energy-efficient public lighting system; an automated irrigation system; a video surveillance system; modern urban furniture and waste collection bins.

Present at the inauguration event, the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Vladimir Bolea, noted that the works carried out will create better conditions for recreational activities.

“Investments made through regional development institutions are direct investments in people’s quality of life and in the future of local communities,” the official emphasized.

The Director of ADR Centru, Ion Pînzari, stressed that such projects demonstrate the important role of committed investments in transforming localities in the Central Region.

“Through the projects implemented by ADR Centru, we transform public spaces into vibrant, useful, and attractive places for people. Regional development means investments in infrastructure that bring better living conditions, more people-friendly cities, and new opportunities for citizens,” said Ion Pînzari.

The new leisure area contributes to improving urban mobility, creating modern conditions for social and sports activities, and increasing the town’s attractiveness for residents and visitors. At the same time, the authorities are counting on the fact that investments in urban infrastructure will generate new economic opportunities and support the sustainable development of the region.

The project was implemented by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, through ADR Centru, with financing from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL).

The total value of the works is 17.16 million lei, of which 13.90 million lei were allocated from the FNDRL, while 3.26 million lei represent the contribution of local authorities.
