Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - The retirement age has been reduced in Moldova. The MPs today voted for the amendment of the legislation in two readings. Thus, as of 1 January 2021, the standard age of women’s retirement will be of 57 years and 62 years – for men.
The initiative belongs to the lawmakers of the Party of Socialists and sees that the women who gave birth and educated five and more children till the age of 8 years will retire at the age of 54 years.
At the same time, the standard retirement age is diminished by from 5 years to 9 years and six months, depending on the length of pensionable service, for the people who made a length of pensionable service in special labour conditions at least ten full years.
Presently, both the women and men from Moldova retire at the age of 63 years.
