
Techsoup Association launches 2023 edition of Meet and Code programming initiative
Chisinau, July 14. /MOLDPRES/- Techsoup Association is launching this year's edition of the "Meet and Code" initiative, which transforms programming language and technology into an educational experience for children and teenagers from Romania and Moldova. Moldovan associations that want to carry out programming activities or to develop other digital skills of young people can apply for microfinancing by September 13, 2023.
"More than 20 thousand children and young people from Romania and the Republic of Moldova used digital devices and lines of code in a creative way through the program: from simulating a trip to the moon, creating story characters and games, to building of projections for the cities of the future. Moreover, some of them have even used robots to address and seek solutions to social and climate issues in their communities. "Meet and Code" microfinances are available for non-profit organizations, including parent associations, students, teachers, etc. Each organization can receive a maximum of three grants, of 300 euros each, provided that the three activities are different", the Techsoup Association said.
213 NGOs have carried out 519 programming and technology educational activities that have reached around 21 thousand children and young people within the program coordinated in Romania and the Republic of Moldova by the Techsoup Association.
Meet and Code is the largest European initiative focused on digital skills for children and young people, aligned with the European Commission initiative, Europe Code Week.
The initiative is organized and coordinated in Europe by Haus des Stiftens and TechSoup Europe. This year, the program is supported by Amazon and SAP in all 25 European partner countries.
