The state secretary in charge of road infrastructure at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR), Nicolai Mîndra, has represented Moldova at the meetings of the European Transport Corridors, Rhine-Danube and Baltic Sea-Black Sea-Aegean Sea, recently held in Brussels. The events were organized under the aegis of the European Commission and the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), and brought together high-ranking officials from member and partner states of the European Union.
The participants in the meetings assessed infrastructure projects conducted by participating states, discussed priorities for the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework and analyzed action plans for implementing European transport network policies.
Special emphasis was put on the Rail Freight Corridors (RFC), high-speed rail network, adapting infrastructure to climate change and the contribution of transport networks to European defense within the ReArm Europe initiative, according to MIDR.
At the meetings, State Secretary Nicolai Mîndra had technical discussions with current and future coordinators of the European corridors, highlighting Moldova's priorities in integrating national transport infrastructure into the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), according to the Mobility Strategy 2030.
At the same time, the Moldovan official attended the anniversary event marking 20 years of activity of the European Coordinators within TEN-T, where achievements and future development prospects of the European transport network were reviewed.
