AGERPRES // MOLDPRES - valuable bridge of communication and cooperation between Romania and Moldova
Through the professionalism and dedication of its team, Moldpres has established itself as a voice of trust and authority in the media landscape of the Republic of Moldova, significantly contributing to the development of democracy and the strengthening of European values in the neighboring and friendly country, AGERPRES agency reports on the 35th anniversary of the State News Agency 'Moldpres'.
'Our partnership, built on a solid foundation of mutual respect, represents a valuable bridge of communication and cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, perfectly illustrating the strength of the ties that unite us and the importance of a free and responsible press. We wish you health, prosperity and continued professional success! May you have many more years full of remarkable achievements and satisfaction in the noble mission you fulfill with such dedication! Happy anniversary, Moldpres!', states the congratulatory message signed by Claudia – Victoria Nicolae, director-general of the National News Agency AGERPRES.
The relationship with the National News Agency of Romania, AGERPRES, was strengthened by the signing of a new cooperation agreement on April 11, 2025. The agreement reflects the close relationships and the profound community of language, culture, and history that binds Romania to the Republic of Moldova.
The two institutions recognize the importance of these ties in promoting a common image and democratic values. In the context where European integration of the Republic of Moldova represents a national priority, and Romania plays an essential role in supporting this path, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to the fundamental principles of the European Union.
The collaboration between AGERPRES and MOLDPRES does not only focus on the exchange of information and good practices but also on effectively communicating European values in society.
On 6 May, MOLDPRES and AGERPRES organized a photo exhibition dedicated to the first Bridge of Flowers, a symbolic event that took place in 1990.
Through archival images, the exhibition brought public attention back to the historical moments of 6 May 1990, when thousands of people formed a live chain of solidarity and hope at the border between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, in a peaceful demonstration for unity and openness.
The exhibition was opened simultaneously in Chișinău and Bucharest, thus marking a visual and emotional bridge between the two banks of the Prut, in the spirit of fraternity and collective memory.
