Traffic blocked in more regions of Moldova amid farmers’ protests; police direct circulation, recommend alternative routes
The road traffic is blocked on more national routes and nearby certain border crossing points, in the context of protests organized by farmers. At present, the police are monitoring the situation on the ground and directing road traffic.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), in Rezina – on route R20, near the locality of Busauca – road traffic was blocked until 12:44.
Also, in Hancesti – on route M1, at km 7, in the area of the Leuseni – Albita customs post – traffic is blocked, with passage allowed only for vehicles transporting sick people and children.
In Ungheni – in the area of the Sculeni post – traffic is blocked. Police officers are currently negotiating with the organizers to unblock the route.
At the same time, in Criuleni – within the city limits, on the national route M1 Chisinau – Dubasari – traffic was blocked until 13:20. In Stefan Voda – on route R30, in the area of the Tudora and Palanca posts – traffic has been blocked since 13:15.
Farmers from more settlements of the country have taken to streets in protest on June 24 and 25, expressing dissatisfaction, including with certain provisions of the draft fiscal policy for next year.
