Gagauz autonomy of Moldova interested in European investments
Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - Governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauz-Yeri (UTA Gagauz-Yeri) Irina Vlah on 15 paid a visit to Iasi, Romania, where she met the city’s mayor, Mihai Chirica. At the meeting in Iasi, the bashkan said that Iasi ‘’is one of the most developed cities in the information technologies sector’’ and that she wanted investments on behalf of Romania in the Gagauz autonomy in this field.
Vlah informed about the achievements of IT specialists from the region, noting that UTA Gagauzia was interested in investments in industry, working out of economic projects, financed with European Union’s means.
„We are impressed by the development of the industrial and IT sector in Iasi. Presently, Iasi is a modern city, with an advanced platform, where technologies of the future are elaborated. We want to learn from here, in order to persuade big industrial companies to invest in our future. We want to learn from Iasi how to create viable economic and financial opportunities for our young people, motivating them to remain at home. We also want to learn to work out projects, due to be able to attract European financing and Iasi has a rich experience in this respect. We thank you for openness and wish to help us,’’ Irina Vlah said, cited by the website www.gagauzinfo.md, at the meeting with the Iasi mayor.
The bashkan invited Mihai Chirica to visit the autonomy and participate in the Invest Gagauzia-2021forum.
