Safety alley opens in south – eastern locality of Moldova
Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ – The 100th Safety Alley was opened on 21 January in village Geamana, Anenii Noi district. This is an initiative of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) and aims to teach the population how to avoid or protect themselves in situations of risk.
The Geamana Safety Alley includes several warning boards, throughout which passers – by are informed about traffic safety, how to protect their homes, cars and pockets of villains, and how to prepare their children to respond to situations of risk.
"By inaugurating this Alley, we want a community in which every citizen feels safe. Throughout this action, we aim to increase safety and information of citizens so that everyone can find simple but useful safety rules. Since we started installing these alleys, we have found that the crime rate is down almost 10 per cent, so the project needs to be continued," said head of IGP, Alexandru Panzari.
The ones which go to Geamana Safety Alley will find the following messages: Your child needs to know how to avoid risk situations. Teach him, do not blame him. Educate him and prepare him for complicated situations, do not isolate him. Keeping yourself out of car thieves is simple: avoid leaving valuable objects in sight to reduce the temptation of car thieves. Take care of your personal belongings: wallet, mobile phone and other valuable things when you are traveling by public transport or in crowded places. A moment of inattention can make you a victim. An open window, unanswered correspondence, home – screen demonstration pictures, and home – based placement on social networking sites are direct invitations to house thieves.
The national project Safety Alley started on 25 January 2018 and one year after its launch, it was implemented in one hundred Moldovan localities.
