Airline launches direct flights from Chisinau to new destination in Europe
An airline has launched direct flights to a new destination in Europe. Thus, citizens will be able to fly from Chisinau to the city of Naples in Italy.
The flights will take place twice a week – each Tuesday and Friday. Thus, the Chisinau International Airport is expanding its flight network.
“The launch of this route marks another step in strengthening the connections between Moldova and Italy – a destination loved by both tourists and the community of Moldovans settled there,” the Chisinau International Airport.
In 2024, the flight schedule at Chișinău International Airport was supplemented with 14 new destinations. These include: Budapest, Cologne, Riga, Istanbul Sabiha, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Enfidha, Manchester, Prague, Abu Dhabi, Brussels Charleroi, Dortmund, Memmingen and Nuremberg.
At the same time, the airport’s administration informed, in early 2025, that the flight network would be expanded by ten new destinations. It is about: Bremen, Alicante, Thessaloniki, Palma de Mallorca, Katowice, Copenhagen, Lyon, Paris Orly, Turin, and Wroclaw.
The Chisinau International Airport ranks among the top performing airports in Europe in the category of 1 - 10 million passengers per year. This growth is supported by the expansion of the route network and the number of airlines, which increased from 20 in 2022 to 33 in 2024.
The Chisinau International Airport returned to state management in the spring of 2023.
