DOC // Cultural, creative sectors of Moldova to have access to European funding through EU Creative Europe Programme

The cultural and creative sectors of Moldova will have access to European funding through the EU Creative Europe programme. The decree by President Maia Sandu on the initiation of negotiations and the approval of signing the Agreement for Moldova's participation in this programme was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today Monitor.

The Creative Europe programme is the most important funding programme of the European Union dedicated to supporting creative sectors, culture and audiovisual.

Thus, cultural and creative operators of the country will have access to European funding, technical support and international cooperation opportunities. In this way, they will be able to develop innovative and sustainable projects, contributing to the diversification of cultural products and creation of jobs.

The programme includes three components – Culture, Media, and Cross-sectoral, and Moldova will be able to participate in all actions stipulated by them. Moreover, the Creative Europe Office is to be established in Moldova.

The institution in charge of consulting and signing the Agreement is the Ministry of Culture.

The Creative Europe programme has an overall budget of 2.44 billion euros for the 2021-2027 period and is managed by the European Commission.
