European Union completes list of individuals, companies of Moldova subject to sanctions

The Council of the European Union today approved a new package of sanctions targeting four companies and seven Moldovan politicians accused of involvement in attempts to destabilize Moldova. The measure comes amid growing concerns about foreign interference and activities by networks coordinated by fugitive Ilan Shor.

According to the Council’s decision, the sanctions were adopted under Regulation (EU) 2024/2305 on restrictive measures against individuals responsible for destabilizing actions in Moldova.

The sanctioned individuals are:

Alexandru Beschieru, leader of the Moldovan Alternative Force and Salvation (FASM);

Victoria Furtuna, president of the Greater Moldova Party;

Alexandr Nesterovschi and Irina Lozovan, former MPs, convicted for illegal financing and internationally wanted;

Natalia Parasca, leader of the Revival Party, linked to the Eurasia organization;

Vadim Grozavu, president of the Victory Party;

Alexei Lungu, president of the Chance Party.

The entities added to the blacklist:

The political Bloc Pobeda/Victory, founded by Ilan Shor in Moscow;

Company A7, involved in illegal financial transactions and cooperation with sanctioned entities from Russia;

The Cultural and Educational Center in Moldova, accused of facilitating voters’ carriage to Russia and promoting the RM (Republic of Moldova) citizen card in the Russian Federation;

The Public Association, Moldova for All, involved in propaganda activities and foreign influence networks.

The sanctions provide for the freezing of assets on the territory of the European Union, travel bans to the EU, and prohibitions on providing funds or economic resources to the targeted individuals and organizations.

These measures come, as the European Union reaffirms its support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova and condemns destabilizing attempts supported by oligarchic networks with external ties.
