DescOperă 2026: four evenings of classical music under open sky in Butuceni
The open-air Classical Music Festival “DescOperă” returns in 2026 with a spectacular anniversary edition, marking 10 years since its launch and offering the public a unique artistic experience. The event will take place on June 19–21 in Butuceni and will be preceded, for the first time, by a preview evening on June 18, extending the festival to four days dedicated to culture and high-quality music.
This year’s edition introduces an innovative stage concept: on each of the three main evenings, the stage will be set up differently, giving spectators new perspectives and a distinct atmosphere every time. The festival will open with the famous opera “The Barber of Seville,” presented by the Bucharest National Opera, promising an exceptional start.
In the context of organizing the 9th edition, Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan and Elena Stepanov, Executive Director of the National Association for Inbound and Domestic Tourism of Moldova signed a Memorandum of Understanding on a strategic partnership. The document aims to strengthen cooperation between the parties, establish a common vision, and clarify responsibilities for the planning, promotion, and implementation of the festival. At the same time, the initiative focuses on the development of cultural tourism and on strengthening the image of the Republic of Moldova as an attractive cultural destination.
The detailed program for each evening, as well as information on access and organization will be announced in the coming period.
