Chisinau Airport launches summer season with 70 international routes

The 2026 summer season has started with a significant expansion of the routes' network operated by the Eugen Doga Chisinau International Airport, giving passengers access to a record number of destinations.

This season, flights from Chisinau are available to approximately 70 destinations from 33 countries, operated by 28 airlines. The offer includes both regular and charter flights, covering a wide range of routes to major cities in Europe, as well as to popular tourist destinations outside the continent, the Airport said.

Among the served destinations, there are capitals and major urban centers, such as Paris, Rome or London, as well as tourist cities like Barcelona and destinations in exotic or holiday regions, including Dubai, Antalya, Sharm el-Sheikh or Tbilisi.

"The expansion of the route network reflects both the growing demand for air transport and the diversification of travel options for passengers of Moldova. The new connections provide fast access to major European hubs, as well as to leisure destinations, contributing to the development of mobility and tourism. The flight schedule includes charter services, operated mainly to holiday destinations, with tickets available through travel agencies," says a press release by the airport.

The 2026 summer season brings an extended offer of air travels, strengthening the role of the Chisinau Airport as the country’s main air transport hub, the cited source concluded.

The Eugen Doga Chisinau International Airport returned to state management in the spring of 2023. The authorities previously announced the modernization of the airport’s infrastructure and the attraction of investments, in order to enhance the capacity and services’ quality, under a state-managed, transparent regime focused on the public interest.

At present, the airport ranks among the best-performing airports in Europe in the 1–10 million passengers per year category. This growth is supported by the expansion of the routes’ network and the increase in the number of airlines, which rose from 20 in 2022 to 33 in 2024.
