Moldovan president has phone conversations with European leaders, to advance EU accession negotiations

The Presidency of the Republic of Moldova

President Maia Sandu earlier this week has held phone conversations with President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen and Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

The discussions focused on the progress made by Moldova in the process of accession to the European Union and on the next steps to advance it. The interlocutors reaffirmed their strong support for our country’s European path.

The phone conversations are part of the broader diplomatic efforts recently undertaken by the head of state, which have also included working visits. During the visits, the Moldovan president had talks with President of Estonia Alar Karis, Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten, President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.
