Chisinau city hall to bear expenses worth 33 million lei of Apa-Canal Chisinau water supply stock company

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) today ruled to cover from the municipal budget the capital cost borne by the Apa-Canal Chisinau stock company, worth 33 million lei.

At a today’s extraordinary meeting, the municipal councilors considered the second and last subject on the agenda – covering the capitals costs of Apa-Canal Chisinau.

The enterprise’s representative, Anatolie Lichii, reported to the councilors that the Apa-Canal Chisinau stock company had a debt of more than 23 million to foreign financers and that, at the same time, the company should pay 10 million lei for the setting up of a single call centre. On 23 October, the enterprise is obliged to reimburse over one million euros; therefore, I demand the covering of the expenses by the municipal budget,’’ Lichii noted.

Asked whether the stock company had carried out the plan on incomes for this year, Lichii said that it had not been fulfilled. ‘’The volume of water supplied was the same; yet, the revenues were lower, given that most consumers were household ones and not economic agents,’’ the enterprise’s representative specified.

The municipal councilors approved, with 41 votes out of 51 ones, a draft on the covering from the municipal budget of the capital costs borne by the Apa-Canal Chisinau stock company, worth 33 million lei. The draft contains an amendment, according to which the enterprise will present the financial report for the first nine months of the year till 15 November 2021.
