Chinese company Yutong explores investment opportunities in Moldova
The Chinese company Yutong, one of the largest manufacturers of buses, coaches, trucks and special-purpose vehicles in China, is exploring investment opportunities Moldova, including the possibility of local assembly of vehicles meant for the Moldovan market. The topic was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador of Moldova to the People’s Republic of China Petru Frunze and representatives of the company.
According to Embassy of Moldova in China, during the meeting the ambassador emphasized that Moldova should be seen not only as a sales market, but also as an attractive destination for investments in production and assembly.
The diplomat presented the country’s investment advantages and the opportunity for vehicles intended for the Moldovan market to be assembled in Moldova. According to him, such an investment might create new jobs, contribute to the development of industrial skills and increase budget revenues through taxes and duties.
Yutong representatives expressed interest in the opportunities presented and will analyze Moldova’s investment offer, the Embassy’s statement notes.
According to the same source, promoting investments that develop local production capacities and integrate the economy of Moldova into international production chains is one of the areas of activity of the diplomatic mission.
