New guarantees for investors: Moldova to conclude bilateral agreements with Sweden, Kazakhstan

Moldova will start negotiations with the Kingdom of Sweden and Kazakhstan, in order to conclude agreements on the mutual promotion and protection of investments. The parliament’s commission for foreign policy, at its today’s meeting, endorsed the launch of talks with the two states.

The bilateral agreements will aim to strengthen the legal framework in the field of investments, reinforce economic relations and intensify investment dialogue between Moldova, Sweden and Kazakhstan.

According to the Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry, the initiator of these efforts, the implementation of these treaties will contribute to the development of priority sectors of the national economy, the creation of new jobs, enhanced competitiveness of the business environment, facilitation of access to advanced technologies and the development of tourism.

The authorities say that the new agreements will create more favorable conditions for attracting foreign investments and will provide additional guarantees to investors by establishing clear rules for the protection of their rights.

Presently, Moldova has signed approximately 43 bilateral agreements in this field, 20 of which are concluded with European Union member states.
