Chisinau International Airport records sales of about 1.8 million lei since early March

The Chisinau International Airport (AIC) today provided updates on the progress and actions in the context of recent changes regarding the public catering network.

“We are constantly working on diversifying the menu and optimizing serving conditions, so that your experience is as pleasant as possible. Some products have been already improved and the bid will continue to expand. At the same time, prices have been kept at the same level, in the spirit of balance between accessibility and the airport's financial sustainability. Since the beginning of this month, we have recorded sales of approximately 1,800,000 lei. In this regard, the revenues generated will directly contribute to the development of the airport's infrastructure, supporting modernization and terminal’s reconstruction projects,”  AIC noted.

As for the airport's Business Lounge, a topic of increased interest for passengers, the quoted source said that active work was carried out done on its arrangement and the expansion of access options. “In this regard, negotiations are underway with international brokers to integrate access through Lounge Key,” the cited sources said.

“Being a new activity for the airport, and considering that this transition was accomplished in an extremely short time – the airport did not have months of preparation, but only a few days to ensure the continuity of essential services. We focus on efficiency and continuous improvement and we assure you that we are making every effort to optimize the services in the shortest time possible,” the Chisinau International Airport added.

Starting from March 1 2025, the commercial spaces at Chisinau International Airport have been are managed directly by the enterprise.

Returned to state administration two years ago, in 2024, the Chisinau Airport got a profit of 336 million lei and it is estimated that it will contribute 105.6 million lei to the public budget. Last year, the Public Property Agency organized three auctions for leasing spaces at AIC, but without success.
