Moldovan PM votes at Romania's presidential elections

Prime Minister Dorin Recean today exercised his right to vote at Romania’s  presidential elections. The official emphasized that he had voted ‘’for a strong and European Romania.’’

The PM said that, on the next two days, Romanians everywhere were called to elect their president.

‘’At the last autumn presidential elections, over 80,000 citizens of Moldova with Romanian citizenship came out to vote in Chisinau, Ialoveni, Ungheni, Calarasi, and all districts of the country, in order to support a free and European path for Romania,’’ said Dorin Recean.

The official called for unity, to protect the European future of citizens on both banks of the Prut.

‘’Once again, we need our unity. We should contribute to protecting the European future of the citizens on both banks of the Prut, especially given that a democratic and strong Romania also means a firm advocate for Chisinau in all European capitals. Today and tomorrow, 64 polling stations are open on the territory of  Moldova. You can vote with a valid Romanian identity document, such as an identity card (electronic/provisional), identity bulletin, or passport,’’ Dorin Recean said.

Romanian citizens from Moldova can exercise their right to vote on 3 and 4 May at Romania’s presidential elections. There are 64 polling stations open in Moldova, which will operate during 07:00 - 21:00.
