Deputy Premier at #BusinessTalks
Local development cannot be achieved in isolation. Every village, every commune, every city matters, for only through national cooperation, with clear plans and honest consensus, can we build a European future for Moldova. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) Vladimir Bolea made the statement at #BusinessTalks Platform that gathered dozens of mayors from across the country in Chisinau yesterday.
The theme of the edition Local Development through National Cooperation highlighted a reality known to all involved in administration: without a functional partnership between central and local authorities, the development process becomes less efficient and harder to coordinate.
“We have reaffirmed a simple but essential truth: local development cannot be achieved in isolation. Every village, every commune, every city matters. And only through national cooperation, with clear plans and honest consensus, can we build a European future for Moldova. In the last two years, we have managed over 1600 projects together with the town halls – proof that partnership works when it is based on respect and real communication,” estimated Vladimir Bolea.
According to the official, from 2026 onwards, special directions for pre-accession projects will be opened – to ensure local administrations are prepared and supported.
“The ‘Europe is Near’ program will bring resources where they are most needed – in roads, water, sanitation, but especially in people's hopes. I was born in a village. I know what it means to want to stay there, but feel that essential things are missing. That's exactly why I am convinced that every locality deserves the chance to become a place where people not only live but choose to stay,” highlighted the Deputy Prime Minister.
Participants in the discussions spoke about real concerns – the lack of specialists, the need for architects, the need for predictability, and coherent projects. “We made it clear: we can only do this together. Local administrations need support, but also the respect they deserve for the effort they make every day. The future of Moldova is being built in every locality. With clear steps, with dialogue, with trust. Together we can build vibrant villages, meaningful cities, communities where every person matters,” summarized the head of MIDR.
Business Talks is a series of dialogue-type events dedicated to the real sector of the economy, which Vladimir Bolea holds with different representatives of the entrepreneurial sector every Wednesday throughout June.
