State funding for businesses increased sixfold in recent years

State funding for small and medium businesses has increased more than sixfold in recent years, from 200 million lei to 1.3 billion lei. Meanwhile, the average salary has doubled to over 16,000 lei compared to 8,000 lei in 2020. The figures were presented by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who stated that economic development and income are a priority for the Government.

The Prime Minister stated that despite multiple crises in recent years, the authorities have managed to maintain stability, reduce inflation, and allocate significant social budgets for people, with the central goal now being economic recovery.

“Economic development and income are our priority! Because these determine the quality of life and security of tomorrow, we continued to maintain stability, even in difficult years, with droughts, external crises, and war at the border. We managed to reduce inflation and allocate important social budgets for people. Now, it's time to revive the economy!” emphasized Dorin Recean.

The Prime Minister emphasized that "unprecedented" investments are being made throughout the country, and going forward, thanks to European aid and the largest financial package ever received – the Growth Plan, the Republic of Moldova aims to achieve over 5% growth by 2028.

According to the Prime Minister, in recent years, over 780 entrepreneurs have benefited from investments of 4.8 billion lei, equivalent to 1.3% of GDP, and service exports have reached nearly 3 billion dollars, with a positive trade balance.

Meanwhile, over 65% of Moldovan products are sold on the European market, with some being exported tax-free, including chicken and eggs. Moldova has become the number 1 exporter of plums to the EU.

At the same time, according to the official, business rules have been simplified, bureaucracy has been reduced, and over 300 public services have been digitized, making them a regional leader in digitalization.

“We know there is more to be done, but we continue the European path so that every Moldovan has higher incomes and a better life. Together we are building a better future for Moldova!” concluded Dorin Recean.

During June 23-27, Entrepreneur Week is organized in the Republic of Moldova, in the context of marking June 27 as Entrepreneur's Day. Statistical data reveals that over the past four years, the Government of the Republic of Moldova, alongside the European Union, has mobilized investments of over 12 billion lei in the national economy. In addition, over 43,700 jobs have been created and maintained across the country, thanks to programs managed by ODA and funded by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the European Union, and the World Bank Group.
