Exchange of best practices between Moldova and Slovenia on path to EU: deputy PM says country has much to learn from Slovenia's experience

The progress of Moldova on its European path, ongoing reforms and the next steps in the process of joining the European Union have been discussed at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and the head of the Commission for International Relations and European Affairs of the National Assembly of Slovenia, Bojan Kekec, along with other members of the Slovenian parliamentary delegation.

‘’We talked about our European agenda, the actions and reforms we are undertaking and the steps we need to take, in order to transform the country and improve people's lives,’’ said Cristina Gherasimov.

On the occasion of Slovenia's National Day, marked today, the deputy PM extended congratulations to the Slovenian delegation and expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by Ljubljana in Moldova’s European integration process.

‘’We have much to learn from Slovenia's experience in the EU accession process, which it underwent 20 years ago,’’ added Gherasimov.

Slovenia, a member state of the European Union since 2004, actively supports the enlargement of the EU community bloc and supports Moldova’s efforts to advance in implementing the reforms necessary for integration.
