Economy minister has meeting with EU Ambassador to Moldova

The close cooperation with the European Union is essential for developing a modern, competitive and sustainable economy. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu today made statements to this effect at a meeting with European Union Ambassador to Moldova Iwona Piórko.

The officials discussed the next steps in strengthening the economic relations between Moldova and the European Union and new opportunities for economic growth.

"Moldova is gradually integrating into the European market, strengthening its position as a regional hub for innovation and business. Together, we are building a strong and prosperous European Moldova," said Eugen Osmochescu.

Statistics data shows that the European Union is the main economic partner of Moldova, accounting for over 67 per cent of the country's exports and more than half of its imports. At the same time, more than 80 per cent of direct foreign investments in Moldova’s economy come from the EU.
