Greece to organize economic mission to Moldova to explore investment opportunities

Greece has expressed its willingness to organize an economic mission to Moldova in the spring of 2026, with the aim of exploring investment opportunities in such strategic sectors as energy, infrastructure and logistics. The intention was announced by representatives of the government of Greece and the Project Preparation Facility (PPF) – a unit of Greece’s National Investment Fund (GrowthFund) – during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitization Eugeniu Osmochescu.

The meeting followed up on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two governments in August 2025 and focused on launching negotiations for an intergovernmental (G2G) agreement that will provide the bilateral legal framework enabling Greece to offer specialized technical assistance for the implementation of the EU Growth Plan for Moldova.

Discussions focused on developing institutional capacity, aligning administrative practices with European standards, preparing investment projects for implementation, increasing the absorption capacity of European funds and accelerating structural reforms.

The Economic Development and Digitization Ministry reaffirmed its openness to launch negotiations on the intergovernmental agreement and to organize joint events dedicated to attracting investments and deepening Moldovan–Greek economic cooperation in support of Moldova’s European integration.
