Moldova ranks second in regional ranking of investment promotion agencies

The Investment Agency of the Republic of Moldova ranked second out of 31 national institutions evaluated in Emerging Europe 2026 ranking, scoring 88.24%. Moldova was surpassed only by Estonia, which scored 89.71%, and ranked ahead of the Czech Republic, Latvia and Lithuania, which shared third place with 86.76%.

The results were published as part of the ninth edition of the evaluation conducted by Emerging Europe, which analyzes the activities of investment promotion agencies from Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Baltic States, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

This year’s evaluation was conducted based on an updated methodology that emphasizes institutions’ ability to anticipate economic changes, identify new investment opportunities and adapt their strategies to developments in international markets. Seven dimensions of agency activity were analyzed, including strategic vision, identity, adaptability, implementation capacity and organizational transformation.

In the analysis, Emerging Europe highlights Moldova’s strategic positioning in view of the future reconstruction of Ukraine and the European integration process. These directions are presented as advantages that differentiate the country’s investment offering and contribute to strengthening its economic profile in the region.

“Second place among 31 national agencies in the region is an important recognition of our team’s work and the progress achieved in recent years,” Investment Agency director Natalia Bejan said .

According to her, the institution’s strategy was developed, among other things, by drawing on the experience of agencies from Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and the Czech Republic, whose best practices were adapted to the realities of the Republic of Moldova.

In previous editions of the Emerging Europe ranking, the Investment Agency ranked fifth in 2021 and seventh in 2022.

The Investment Agency is the public institution responsible for attracting investment, promoting exports and strengthening the economic image of the Republic of Moldova.
