Moldova's public property Agency takes legal action against Avia Invest Ltd company
Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/ - The concessionaire of the assets of the Chisinau International Airport, Avia Invest Ltd company, did not fully honoured the obligations provided for in the contract on concession on the period of the investment stage I. For some investment directions, Avia Invest Ltd carried out concession works by 8.8 million euros less than stipulated in the investment programme.
For this reason, following recommendations by the commission for monitoring the concession, under the contract’s provisions, the Public Property Agency (AAP) on 6 February 2020 sent a notification to the Avia Invest Ltd company, thereby demanding the payment of damages, which amounted at about 500,000 euros at that time.
On 14 February 2020, Avia Invest Ltd refused to fulfill the pretensions put forward by APP.
The Public Property Agency submitted an application on taking legal action against Avia Invest Ltd on the collection of penalties/damages for the non-fulfillment of the contractual obligations stipulated in investment directions.
The application was submitted on 19 March 2020 and is now pending at the Chisinau Court (Centru headquarters).
