
Screenwriter from Moldova won Grand Prize at Cannes for second consecutive year
Oleg Condrea, a screenwriter, director, animator and professor at Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University has won Grand Prize at Cannes for the second consecutive year for short films Tangled Tails and Echoes of the Ringing Bells. The artist was congratulated today by MPs and Speaker Igor Grosu.
'Today, in Parliament, I had the joy of meeting Oleg Condrea. Moldova has talented, visionary young people who take the country's name far. Moldova Can!', said Grosu.
In December 2023 - May 2024, Condrea's creations were awarded over 80 international prizes at prestigious festivals in New York, Florence, Berlin, Paris, and London.
Also today, the speaker had a meeting with the young members of a Moldovan video game development studio, who were recently awarded for Best Game at the Nordic Game expo.
Grosu reiterated that these achievements reaffirm the creative potential of the youth from the Republic of Moldova and their ability to make a mark on the world's leading cultural and technological stages.
