New Moldovan government’s economic priorities on agenda of talks with European Commission’s Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations
The economic priorities of the new government and concrete measures to strengthen the competitiveness of Moldova’s economy in the context of European integration have been discussed by Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu and Finance Minister Victoria Belous with Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugeniu Osmochescu presented the priority directions assumed by the authorities: attracting investments, developing industry, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, increasing exports and integrating Moldovan companies into European value chains.
Particular emphasis was placed on reducing barriers for the business environment, simplifying interaction between the state and entrepreneurs, expanding access to finance and developing sectors with high growth potential.
“Our priority is to build a European economy in which companies from Moldova can grow, export more and become part of the European single market. The support of the European Union is essential for accelerating these transformations,” said Eugeniu Osmochescu.
The officials also discussed the implementation of the Growth Plan for Moldova, including harnessing European instruments to support investment, modernize the economy and enhance the competitiveness of the business environment.
