Construction works on national road R7 “R14 - Drochia - Costești - border with Romania” could be declared of public utility and national interest
The Government decided today to establish a Preliminary Inquiry Commission for declaring the construction works on the national road R7 “R14 – Drochia – Costești – border with Romania” (the bypass section around the city of Drochia) as being of public utility and national interest.
The national public road R7 “R14 – Drochia – Costești – border with Romania” has strategic importance, fulfilling, in addition to its role as a republican road, the function of a road that is part of the trans-European transport network TEN-T.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development Nicolae Mîndra said at the Government meeting that the construction works for the bypass road of the city of Drochia will help reduce urban congestion, increase road safety, and ensure traffic continuity through safer intersections and more predictable traffic flows.
The Commission will analyze the necessity of declaring the works as being of public utility, so that the project can move forward in accordance with the established plans.
