PM-designate says Moldova can become investment platform for Indian companies, gateway to EU market

Moldova can become an investment platform for Indian companies and a gateway to the European Union market. Designated Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has made statements to this effect at the Moldova–India Business Forum.

The official emphasized that the authorities’ goal is to transform Moldova into an increasingly attractive business environment, through simpler rules, digital services and a faster decision-making process.

“Our ambition is for Moldova to become the most business‑friendly country in Europe, with simple rules, digital services, competitive taxes and decisions taken in weeks, not years. For Indian companies, Moldova can become an investment platform and an access point to the European Union market, and for Moldovan companies – a gateway to one of the largest and most dynamic markets in the world,” noted Vasile Tofan.

Addressing Indian entrepreneurs, the designated PM invited them to explore the opportunities provided by Moldova and to assess the results through concrete projects.

“Come with serious projects and judge us by how quickly we respond. India brings global scale and ambition. Moldova can offer speed, simpler rules and access to the European market. Together, we can achieve great things, and those who will invest and build alongside us will have my full support and the one of the government team,” reiterated the designated prime minister.

The Moldova–India Business Forum was held in Chisinau, bringing together entrepreneurs and representatives of the business communities from both states, in the context of the first official visit to Moldova by President of India Droupadi Murmu. The event aimed to promote trade and investment opportunities, as well as to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation. The forum was attended by President Maia Sandu, the designated Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and a delegation of Indian business people.
