Over 500 companies received electricity compensation worth 24.5 million lei
A total of 556 companies received compensation for electricity costs related to January, February and part of March 2025. The total amount transferred to the beneficiaries' accounts is 24.5 million lei. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED) unveiled the data today.
Entrepreneurs can benefit from compensation of 50% of the increase in electricity tariffs.
The compensations will continue to be granted throughout the year.
Applications for energy compensation can be submitted online by entrepreneurs via EVO application or MCabinet, where a new module – compensation – is available. After submitting the application, applicants can check status, from submission to approval and payment.
“This program, launched in January 2025, has a clear objective: to reduce the burden of bills and thereby support the business environment,” MDED said.
The program to compensate for the increase in electricity prices for businesses has a total budget of 300 million lei, funds that will be provided by the European Union.
