Price of hen's eggs to increase to 40 lei in Moldova
Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The price of hen’s eggs has increased in the shops of Moldova. Their cost will reach up to 40 lei, depending on the commercial network.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the information and media communication service at the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry, Daniela Turculet, said that the increase in prices had been triggered by the increase in the price of poultry’s fodder.
„Another reason would be the price for electric energy and gas, as energy resources are used in halls for maintenance, for the work of incubators and ventilators,’’ Turculet noted.
In early July, the price for 10 eggs varied between 18 and 24 lei in markets from Moldova and up to 29 lei in shops; thus, the eggs’ price grew by about 50 per cent.
