Speaker about situation in agriculture: We acted in time to prevent complications

The state has intervened to protect farmers and critical infrastructure, according to Speaker Igor Grosu, who commented before today’s parliament meeting on the situation of farmers and the measures taken by the authorities to support the agricultural sector and to ensure the efficient management of critical resources.

Grosu noted that some international agricultural projects and other partner organizations are being closely monitored in order to assess their impact on farmers and on the domestic market. Grosu emphasized the importance of efficiently managing strategic resources, especially those critical for agriculture, such as diesel fuel.

“Currently, I have no information about additional volumes. What matters is that we took timely measures, ensured the necessary stocks, and brought critical, strategic infrastructure back under state control. Imagine the situation if we had not done this – it would have been complicated for the entire supply network and for the farmers who depend on these resources,” Igor Grosu explained.

At the same time, the Speaker highlighted that the authorities are closely monitoring price developments for resources needed in agriculture, and strategic interventions are planned in such a way as to prevent unexpected price increases that could affect farmers.
