Moldovagaz to stay responsible for supplying natural gas to Transnistrian region in continuation

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today ruled to extend the designation of Moldovagaz joint stock company as the entity responsible for supplying natural gas to the Transnistrian region.

Thus, Moldovagaz will be responsible for supplying natural gas to the Transnistrian region for an additional three‑month period, namely as of April 1, 2026 to June 30, 2026.

The decision was taken at a request by Moldova’s Energy Ministry. The institution justified the need for this decision by the necessity to maintain the continuity of the existing operational and contractual arrangements, including with regard to transport, balancing and flexibility services provided in cooperation with LLC Vestmoldtransgaz, as well as by the need for efficient planning of transport capacity booking, in correlation with the annual auction calendar published at regional level.

In the summer of 2025, ANRE designated the company Moldovagaz as responsible for supplying natural gas to the Transnistrian region for the period September 1, 2025 – 31 March 2026.
