Today the European Commission disbursed to the Republic of Moldova approximately 200 million euros, following the country’s completion of 24 out of the 26 reforms set out in the Growth Plan. European Commissioner Marta Kos made the statement during the press conference dedicated to the launch of technical negotiations on the last clusters of Moldova’s EU accession process.

“We are pleased to announce that today the European Commission has disbursed almost 200 million euros for Moldova, after the country completed another 24 reforms out of the 26 provided for in the Growth Plan. This confirms that Moldova is not only delivering results, but is among the best-performing states in implementing the reforms needed for accession. The Moldovan authorities know what they have to do and can count on our firm support at every step. For our part, we will continue to work with the Member States to advance the enlargement process and to ensure that the benefits of EU integration become increasingly visible to citizens,” said Marta Kos.

The European Commissioner underlined the importance of these reforms in areas that are essential for citizens, such as the justice system, the fight against corruption, education, and economic development.

“Moldova now has everything it needs to move forward with the reforms required for accession to the European Union. This represents an important opportunity to promote real change, to transform institutions, and to prepare the country for European integration. The progress achieved so far is visible, but there is still much work ahead. Daily work, engagement, and perseverance are essential for the process to continue successfully,” Marta Kos added.

The final stage of technical negotiations between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, targeting the last three clusters of the EU acquis, was launched today in Brussels, marking full coverage of all six clusters and all 33 thematic chapters of European legislation.
