Acting Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu has taken part, together with President Maia Sandu and the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, in the Moldova–India Business Forum, held in Chisinau. The event brought together representatives of the authorities and business communities from Moldova and India, providing a dialogue platform for strengthening trade and investment relations between the two states.

Moldova is strengthening its position as an attractive investment destination through the modernization of the economy, the digitalization of public services, the development of industrial infrastructure and the deepening of economic integration with the European Union. In the context, the cooperation with India represents an important opportunity for expanding trade relations, attracting investments and capitalizing on new areas of common interest.

The forum’s agenda included the presentation of business and investment opportunities in such sectors as infrastructure and construction, manufacturing, information technology, renewable energy, the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and the processing of agri-food products.

The forum reconfirms the interest of Moldova and India in deepening economic relations and developing joint projects, that will contribute to increasing investments, expanding exports and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

In 2025, the bilateral trade between Moldova and India amounted to 80.5 million U.S. dollars, up by 6.87 per cent compared to the year before. Seventy five  companies with mixed Moldovan-Indian capital are registered in Moldova.
