Ban on visiting public parks to be reviewed at next CSE meeting - acting PM says

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/- Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi chaired a meeting of the Single Emergency Control Center on Monday, which brought together heads of the authorities involved in managing the epidemiological situation, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
MSMPS State Secretary Tatiana Zatîc said that in the last 24 hours, 3,214 tests were processed in the Republic of Moldova, being confirmed 703 cases of infection with the new coronavirus and 42 deaths. At the same time, about 4 thousand people remain hospitalized, 322 - in extremely serious condition, and over 19 thousand - in home treatment. Those indices show a slight improvement in the pandemic situation compared to previous weeks. This is determined by the stricter monitoring of the rules imposed by the control bodies, the increased testing capacity of the population and the start of the vaccination process. Currently, there are about 50 thousand people vaccinated in Moldova.
 
At the same time, since the establishment of the state of emergency, over 3 thousand police officers and 2,500 carabineers have been trained daily in ensuring actions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection. The data reported by the Border Police show that during the last 13 months, the state border of the Republic of Moldova has been crossed about 5 million times by Moldovans, both on the way in and out. Also, the border police found about 120 cases of falsification of Covid tests. In another context, law enforcers reported they have identified 25 waiting stations in Chisinau, where there is increased congestion. 
In the context in which the adoption by the CSE of the ban on visits to parks and recreational areas aroused several misunderstandings in society, the interim prime minister noted the need to review this action: "I recognize it was a decision not well thought out, given that Moldova is not subject to lockdown regime. I promise we will review this issue at the next CSE meeting. "
During the meeting, the center members approved the request of local authorities in Bălți to set up six temporary tents for rapid testing of citizens.
At the same time, they agreed to set up an intersectoral working group, which will include representatives of IGSU, MAI, ANSA, MF, MJ, CNAS, CNAM, etc., and advisers to the premier who will make additional efforts in managing the pandemic situation.
The center will be convened in meetings at least twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and possibly more often - depending on the evolution of the pandemic situation.
