First industrial park dedicated to digital innovations in agriculture to be set up in Moldova
Agrotek Park company solely founded by the Technical University of Moldova will hold the title of a specialized industrial park for the next 30 years, dedicated to digital innovations in agriculture. Decision to grant this title was approved by government.
AgroTek Park will be developed within the university campus on Mircești Street in Chișinău and will be coordinated by the Technical University of Moldova, in partnership with the Government and the private sector. Here, research laboratories, international and local companies in the technological and agricultural fields, innovative startups, and governmental institutions will collaborate to support the agricultural sector through advanced solutions.
The new park is expected to generate about 6,500 jobs and attract over 100 million dollars in investments. The project’s completion will contribute to youth involvement in research and innovation, offering them the opportunity to study and build a successful career in the Republic of Moldova.
The project aims to transform national agriculture through modern technologies, including robotics and automation, regenerative and organic agriculture, vertical farming, nanotechnology, as well as circular agriculture for food and agricultural waste processing.
The estimated investments for infrastructure renovation amount to about 40-50 million euros, to be carried out in stages over 5-7 years. In the first year, up to 5 million euros are needed for renovating offices and attracting the first residents, already allocated by the World Bank. The project will be funded through a mix of resources: the state budget, European and international funds, as well as private investments.
