The partnership between the police forces of Moldova and Romania will be strengthened. Head of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) Viorel Cernauteanu and Head of the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate Chief Commissioner Ionel Nane signed a bilateral cooperation agreement today.

The document was signed within the European TACTIC+ project, Joint Front for Security, funded through the Interreg NEXT Programme, and provides for cooperation in professional training, the development of common procedures and the continuous exchange of best practices.

IGP Head Viorel Cernauteanu highlighted the importance of the cross-border cooperation in maintaining stability in the region, expressing the National Police’s openness to developing new initiatives through joint security projects.

Through this agreement, the two institutions aim to strengthen their response capacities in crisis situations, including by organizing joint training sessions and using state-of-the-art tools.

At the same time, the cooperation seeks to ensure a prompt, professional and coordinated response for the benefit of the safety of cross-border communities.
