Government approves increased integration measures for foreigners in Moldova
Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ – The foreigners coming to Moldova will receive free support and assistance in integration process into the social and cultural life of Moldova. The Government decided to create three integration centres today, which would be located in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul. They will function within Migration and Asylum Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The centres will provide foreigners with permanent access to information on existing integration activities and programs, as well as facilitate effective cooperation between central and local public authorities. Thus, the new structures will be a one-stop shop for receiving requests from immigrants and redirecting them to the authorities and services they need.
Also, counseling and assistance services for foreigners will be provided within the integration centres, including establishing and promotion of links between communities and immigrant associations.
According to official data, at the beginning of 2017 there were more than 25 thousand foreigners and stateless persons in Moldova. Most of them are people from Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Romania and Turkey. They come to Moldova as to reunite their families, work or study.
