Prime Minister discussed with Lithuanian counterpart progress of Moldova’s European path

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Lithuania Mindaugas Sinkevičius. The officials discussed support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, bilateral relations, and priority areas of cooperation in the coming period.

Tofan thanked Lithuania for its consistent support to the Republic of Moldova, which contributes to the modernization of the country and to advancing its European course. The Prime Minister highlighted the progress our country has made in implementing reforms and the importance of maintaining a sustained pace in the accession process.

In the context of Lithuania taking over the Presidency of the Council of the EU at the beginning of 2027, the Head of Government expressed confidence that enlargement will remain a priority on the European agenda. At the same time, the importance of maintaining an active dialogue with all EU Member States was underlined, so that the progress and reforms achieved by the Republic of Moldova are supported at the European level.

The two officials agreed to maintain close dialogue and to continue cooperation in support of European integration and strengthening the resilience of the Republic of Moldova.
