Marcel Bolboaca-Negru - new Defense Attaché at U.S. Embassy in Chisinau
Marcel Bolboaca-Negru is the new senior defense official and defense attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau. He has more than 25 years of military service experience.
The official emphasized that he wishes to contribute to strengthening the friendship and partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America.
“I am very happy to be in Chisinau as the new senior defense official and defense attaché at the U.S. Embassy. Coming to Moldova feels like coming home. I grew up in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, so the language, culture, food, humor, and the way people interact are all very familiar to me in a very special way. I am excited to return to this region and to help strengthen the friendship and partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States. I look forward to meeting many of you, learning from you, and working together for a safer and stronger future,” said Marcel Bolboaca-Negru.
He has served on missions in Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait, as well as deployments in other parts of the world. Before arriving in Chisinau, he worked at the Department of State in Washington, DC, as a military adviser.
