Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration has meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri had a meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, during working visit to Brussels today.
The officials reviewed the current situation in the Transnistrian settlement process and in the promotion of the country’s reintegration policies, as well as the bilateral cooperation between Moldova and the European Union, in the context of the country’s EU accession process.
The deputy PM reported on the achievements and priority measures of Chisinau, aimed at solving the pressing problems of residents on both banks of the Dniester River, removing existing barriers in the eastern districts of the country and restoring single national spaces in all sectors (economic, social, educational, energy, fiscal, etc.).
The Moldovan official extended sincere thanks to the European Union for its constant support to Moldova, including the assistance provided in the energy sector, which helps maintain stability and meet the energy needs of residents on both banks of Dniester. This support contributes to the modernization, strengthening and sustainable development of the country, ensuring European quality standards are transposed into the national regulatory framework.
The interlocutors reconfirmed their commitment to continue cooperation in support of efforts related to the Transnistrian settlement process, while observing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.
