Discussions on media access to the activities of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) continued during a new working meeting held in Bender today.

The position of Moldova’s delegation remained unchanged, continuing to promote the professional right of media representatives to report firsthand on the work of the peacekeeping mechanisms in the Transnistrian region of Moldova.

At the current stage, this prerogative of journalists is blocked by Tiraspol representatives, who are applying a selective approach and imposing excessive requirements on media outlets from the right bank of the Dniester.

As for the freedom of movement in the Security Zone, the delegation of Moldova referred to the announcement by the Harbovat mayoralty about the start of repair works on a road section and requested the unimpeded movement of the transport means of local poultry enterprises along the alternative route that passes through the posts of the Transnistrian structures. Our delegation called on all members of the Commission to resolve this issue in a positive manner, as provided for by the Ceasefire Agreement from July 21, 1992.
