Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration pays working visit to central district
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri today paid a working visit to the central Anenii Noi district, where he had meetings with the district leadership and with the mayors of the localities situated in the Security Zone. The discussions focused on strengthening the capacities of local public administrations, boosting the implementation of development projects, as well as assessing their impact on the development of communities on both banks of the Dniester River.
During the meeting, the deputy PM informed about the launch of works to connect the locality of Varnita to the natural gas distribution networks. Chiveri also referred to the objectives and purpose of the draft legislative initiative to establish a Convergence Fund, in order to support development projects on both banks of the Dniester River, which is currently at the stage of interinstitutional consultations.
Additionally, during the visit, the deputy prime minister had discussions with the head of Anenii Noi district, Alexandru Moisei, during which the activity of the local public administration was commended. The interlocutors underlined the need to develop the district’s infrastructure, in order to ease traffic flows, taking into account the significant number of people who travel daily from the Transnistrian region to right-bank localities for work, access to services and other needs.
The deputy PM also inspected on the ground the infrastructure illegally installed by representatives from Tiraspol along the Harbovat – Proteagailovca – Bender road segment, which unjustifiably restricts traffic and affects the mobility of residents and economic agents, given that maintaining a safe and uninterrupted traffic flow during repair works remains an imperative necessity.
It should be noted that, during the period 2011–2025, localities of Anenii Noi district located in the Security Zone benefited from projects financed through the Program of Activities for the Country’s Reintegration, with a total value of 28.5 million lei.
