
Moldova, Poland speak out for boosting bilateral relations
Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki today considered possibilities of strengthening the Moldovan-Polish cooperation, at a meeting in Munich, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip emphasized the efficient partnership on the European integration dimension and welcomed the resumption of the Moldovan-Polish Forum of European Integration, due on 28 February 2018. In the context of placing Moldova on the agenda of the discussions within EU at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council on 26 February, this year, Pavel Filip stressed the importance of the promotion of a balanced speech on the domestic situation in Moldova, by emphasizing the progress made in the reforms’ implementation.
In this respect, Mateusz Morawiecki noted that Poland would further back Moldova in the promotion of the agenda of European reforms. At the same time, the official praised the support of the Moldovan side in the election of Poland as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
The two prime ministers spoke out for boosting the trade exchanges, noting that although the latter had doubled in January-September 2017, there was potential which had not been turned to account.
In the end of the meeting, PM Pavel Filip thanked for the Polish financial assistance provided within the Development Assistance Programme. Moldova benefits from assistance on behalf of Poland in eight key sectors, among which: good governance, democracy, agriculture and rural development.
