Moldovan speaker at Folklore Festival - At Harvest
The third edition of the Folklore Festival At Harvest, held in Cîrnățeni, Căușeni district, gathered farmers from all over the country who celebrated the end of the grain harvest. Speaker Igor Grosu attened the event.
'It is an ideal moment to say thank you to our farmers, who in wind, sun or cold take care of our lands, ensuring we have food on the table. Yes, sometimes the yield is better, sometimes less so, but let's thank God above, for he takes care of us and has given us peace. If we have peace and health, we will manage everything,' he said.
Artistic groups also participated in the event, providing the festive atmosphere.
The festival also brought together folk craftsmen from all over the country. Viorica Aștefanoae weaves souvenirs from vegetable fibers. She prepared for this event and brought works made from wheat stalks, presenting the tradition of reaping in our national culture. Vera Sali brought traditional costumes from her personal collection. Two of them date from the end of the 19th century - beginning of the 20th century and belonged to the family of historian Ion Nistor.
The event was organized by Cîrnățeni City Hall and Speranța-Cîrnățeni Association, with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
