PM: Those who study at Taraclia University to benefit from diplomas recognized across European area
Taraclia University becomes a branch of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, Bulgaria, being the first Bulgarian higher education institution opened outside the country. An agreement to this effect was signed by ministers of education of the two states – Dan Perciun and Krasimir Valchev, in the presence of Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Bulgarian Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov.
Taraclia branch of Angel Kanchev University will offer training in 7 specializations, where teaching, Bulgarian language and history, as well as business, informatics, and agricultural equipment will be studied. The training will be conducted in Bulgarian, Romanian and English. The university will issue European diplomas, and students will get a monthly scholarship of about 2,400 lei.
"Those who study here will benefit from diplomas recognized throughout the entire European area. This is a very important step for the whole region, not just for Taraclia. I want to encourage all young people from Taraclia, Cahul, Gagauz autonomy, as well as those from Bolgrad or Ismail districts in Ukraine, to come to study at Taraclia Angel Kanchev University branch," Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized.
The university's activities will boost the socio-cultural life in the south of the country, contributing to the internationalization of higher education, including through active participation in international projects and attracting foreign students into the educational system of the Republic of Moldova.
Referring to cooperation in education, Recean also appreciated the publication, with the support of the Government from Sofia, of 1000 history and Bulgarian language books. "This is an investment in the European future of our countries. This is what the European Union means – a community that offers opportunities, equality and security for each of its members, for all minorities and all citizens," added Dorin Recean.
It is worth mentioning that Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, Bulgaria, marks the 80th anniversary this year.
