Moldovan foreign affairs minister has meeting with ambassador of Pakistan
Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - The fostering of the bilateral relations in all sectors of mutual interest, as well as the boosting of the multilateral cooperation represented the subject of a discussion between Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Ambassador of Pakistan, Safdar Hayat, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
In the context, Minister Ulianovschi appreciated the good relations between the two countries, speaking out for continuing their development. ‘’Our bilateral relations have a potential which has not been turned to account; I mean both their economic component and aspects dealing with the sectoral cooperation. I am sure than the Moldova-Pakistan relations can ensure an increase of the bilateral commercial and economic exchanges and can contribute to the bolstering of the cooperation in such sectors as agriculture, textile industry, pharmaceutical field and other spheres of mutual interest,’’ the official noted.
„The results registered at the Moldova-Pakistan economic forum, held in Chisinau last year, make us believe in new opportunities of cooperation between business people from the two countries, including through the appointment of honorary consuls,’’ the Moldovan diplomacy head said.
Also, the sides stressed that the development of the political dialogue at all levels, including through the organization of the second round of inter-ministerial consultations in Islamabad, would represent a good occasion for the launch of new bilateral cooperation projects.
Referring to other aspects of the bilateral ties, the officials emphasized interest for extending the bilateral legal framework, through boosting the work on draft bilateral agreements in different sectors of mutual interest.
The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Pakistan were established on 16 February 1992.
