Moldovan, Italian officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, Oct. 4 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu held a phone conversation with Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of Italy. Maia Sandu pointed out that the ties between both countries are particularly strong, thanks to the large community of Moldovans in Italy, who contribute to the economies of both countries, the presidential press service has reported.

"Our goal is to create better living conditions at home, so that Moldovans don't have to leave, and those from the diaspora want to come back," the official said.

At the same time, Maia Sandu said that Italy is a reliable partner in the modernization process, pledging to support us with 40 million euros in agriculture, health and energy efficiency in 2024 - 2026 .

The head of state said that in all her discussions with foreign heads, the Moldovans' interests whether they are at home or abroad are a priority.

"Italy firmly supports us on our European path, and Moldovans in Italy know well what it means to be part of this family of peace and prosperity. All Moldovans deserve to be part of the European Union!", Maia Sandu said.
